If you're going to board the enemy ship while it still has functioning weapons (and you don't have a fellow human player to stay behind and manage the ship during that time) then you're going to want to make a bee-line for the Tactical center, the bridge, or the reactor, and disable one immediately.Īnd boarding the enemy ship just to disable a particular component does seem like a valid strategy. Your ship can 100% be destroyed while you're away from it, and it is sadly an immediate game over. But I always wonder why they don't just repair and then destroy my ship.Īre there scenarios where it makes sense to teleport, destroy something on their ship then teleport back? usually worth doing just because raiding their cargo hold yields much better rewards than just the scrap you'd get by blowing them up, and enemy ship captains usually drop real nice weapons.ĭo you know if your ship can be destroyed while you're on the enemy ship? Usually, I knock out their tactical then board the ship. Enemy AI seems pretty slow on making repairs, so once you've got their weapons out you have plenty of time to explore their ship and take them all out in person. Of course, if you just want to disable the enemy ship's weapons, you could carefully target those with a missile (just one won't destroy the whole ship) or board the ship, run to their Tactical room, and shoot the main terminal/generator thing with your hand-held weapons. You can also use a Hackatron (I think that was the term?) if you want to bust in there real quick. The specific ship's key-card will almost always be found in the Captain's Quarters, and usually one other place. ![]()
